The residence: King bed in the bedroom and a queen sofabed in the living room, sleeping up to four. Full kitchen, dining table, Wi-Fi and TV. The living room opens onto your private patio, which faces the trail behind the building.

The building: A heated outdoor pool and hot tub in the courtyard, open all winter. A fitness room, a guest laundry on the residence floors and gas grills on the pool deck. Each residence has one dedicated space in the secure underground garage at no extra cost.

One Ski Hill Place: Mountain Thunder guests can use the pools and aquatics at One Ski Hill Place at the base of Peak 8, with a resort shuttle between the two. This is useful when the Mountain Thunder pool closes for maintenance.

Getting around: The underground walkway runs to the BreckConnect Gondola, about 0.15 mi away, which goes up to Peaks 7 and 8. Main Street is about 0.4 mi in a straight line.

Mountain Thunder sits in the pines on the north edge of Breckenridge's historic district, right beside the BreckConnect Gondola. It feels quiet and wooded, but Main Street, with its restaurants, shops and après bars, is a short walk away. City Market, the full-size grocery, is about 0.36 mi in a straight line. In winter the ski-back trail runs right behind the building, and in summer the gondola and Main Street lead you to hiking, biking and the Riverwalk.

Once you arrive you can leave the car in the garage. An underground walkway takes you to the BreckConnect Gondola, about 0.15 mi away, which rides up to Peaks 7 and 8. Breckenridge's Free Ride bus stops nearby, and the gondola station is the main transit hub in town. Main Street and City Market are both a short walk. Mountain Thunder's resort shuttle also runs to One Ski Hill Place at the base of Peak 8. The gondola closes from May to mid-June.

Ski-in is seasonal. You can ski back to the building on the trail behind it while that trail is open, usually mid-December to mid-April depending on snow. To get up the mountain, you take the gondola.

Arrival: The key lockbox is in the main lodge, Building 50, so you'll pass through the lobby when you check in. Full instructions come before your stay.

Parking: One dedicated garage space is included. Spaces are limited, so let us know how many cars you're bringing. AWD or 4WD is strongly recommended from November through May.

Towels are provided for the number of guests booked and are not restocked mid-stay. Use the guest laundry for longer stays.

No pets, no smoking, no parties or events.
